1/48 CDL M4A1 Sherman

This is a resin 3D printed turret for the 1/48 hobby boss M4A1 to convert it into the CDL American type E. All parts are 3D printed in resin so sanding and painting is required, please use a mask when sanding as per normal resin kits health and safety.

The canal defence light CDL program was a top secret weapon that was meant to disorientate an enemy with flickering lights, its downfall was 2-fold. 1 it was so secret that the commanders didn't know it existed, so they were never used in their intended role. 2 not all people react the same way to the lights, so it was not as effective as they hoped. The M3 lee was the prefer conversion as it retained the hull gun but experiments were done on the M4 Sherman. This is an American type E turret, but there were 3 turrets for the Sherman, a British one on a later Sherman and a 3rd kept the gun of the Sherman but never made it off the drawing board.
