R.A.F Strategic Bomber Vulcan K.2 Aerial Refueling Aircraft Type
The Vulcan is a strategic bomber whose unit deployment began in 1956. In 1982, it participated in the Falklands War -- its first and last combat mission. Later, when the importance of aerial refueling missions was recognized again by the British military, six aircraft were converted to aerial refueling types. The Vulkan K.2 refueling type, which had a refueling drogue device attached to the tail cone and a fuel tank in the bomb bay, was operated until 1984.
This model kit from Pit-Road reproduces the box-type refueling device with special parts; the kit can be built as a B.2 bomber type or K.2 aerial refueling aircraft type. Decals are included for four versions (K.2 refueling aircraft, No. 505 Sqn x2, and B.2 bomber: No. 101, No. 44 Sqn, one each), and a display stand is also included. Order yours today!
